Floridian hard rockers Creed reunited and hit the road for their first tour in 11 years, creating a maelstrom of energy and momentum so successful that it propelled their music back into the Billboard charts, together with this year’s new “Summer of 99”, and “Are You Ready?” tours, which were among the fastest selling rock shows in the USA.

Show designer and director Martin Hruska wanted to create an ambitious, breathtakingly visual and memorable performance space for Slovak rap group Kontrafakt to deliver their highly anticipated “New Era” concerts at Prague’s O2 Arena in the Czech capital, a challenge achieved with the assistance of nearly 200 Robe moving lights and a spectacular automated stage set.

‘The Need for Speed’ – the ability to work fast and sometimes furiously – “is imperative” explains lighting designer Tom Kenny referring to the 2023 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina event staged at the Kaseya Arena in Miami, Florida, in conjunction with LPS Production.

The 2023 Lollapalooza Berlin event at Olympiapark in the heart of the city was notable for a sizzling artist lineup as well as being a major Robe moving light installation, with almost 500 Robe fixtures – over 75 on the Alternative Stage, over 125 on Main Stage North and over 250 on Main Stage South, plus some on Perry’s stage.

Popular rock band Paramore are engaged in a world tour supporting their acclaimed sixth studio album, This is Why, which dropped in February. The live show features an eye-catching and interesting stage and lighting production design crafted by Sooner Routhier of Sooner Rae Creative and Trevor Ahlstrand of Ahlstrand Productions.

Popular rapper and producer ИF just finished a massive US leg of his “HOPE” world tour which featured another impressive lighting and production design created by Chris Denholm (also production manager & musical director) and Clay Joiner (also lighting designer & programmer, as well as operator on the European leg).

Maintaining that delicate balance between enigmatic, arty, alternative popularity and success … the much anticipated Twenty One Pilots “Icy” tour hit the road this summer, offering lighting designer Tyler “Shap” Shapard the chance to produce an elegant and imaginative lighting design based on atmospherically engineering the mood and vibes - with many dramatic differences – for each song.

The much-anticipated 2022 MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards) proved every bit as thrilling, visually dramatic and sonically entertaining as music fans globally have come to expect of this high-profile live broadcast extravaganza! This year it was staged at the Prudential Center in Newark, New York, and lit for the third year by Tom Sutherland of DX7 Design.

The buzz and dazzle of the industry’s own ‘Gig of the year’ – the 2022 Total Production International (TPi) Awards was back … produced by TPi Magazine, part of Mondiale Media, the event made a spectacular return to London’s Battersea Evolution venue after two years absence due to the pandemic.
